Geisha originating in Ethiopia found its way to Colombia in the 1950s. This particular bean was grown on a micro lot and hand-picked at the optimal sugar level. The cherries undergo 90-hours of fermentation, they are depulped and then undergo another 90-hours of fermentation in mucilage. Lastly, they are dried on African beds of honey
After much love is put into these beans, the farmers are able to sell them for over 300% above the FNC fair market buy rate. Additionally, each kilo of coffee contributes to 40 liters of water saved compared to traditional washed coffee.
